MANILA, Philippines – Typhoon Marce (Yinxing) made landfall in Santa Ana, a municipality in Cagayan province with a population of more than 35,000, at 3:40 pm on Thursday, November 7.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced Marce’s landfall on its Facebook page.
PAGASA said earlier on Thursday afternoon that Marce had maximum sustained winds of 175 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 240 km/h.
Signal Nos. 1 to 4 are in effect as Marce is bringing fierce winds to parts of Northern Luzon. Moderate to torrential rain has also been hitting several provinces even before the typhoon’s landfall.
